About Tina
Hi. My name is Tina, founder and CEO of ShortMeTina. That's a picture of me (bottom left) in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico . To date; it is probably one of the best vacations I've experienced. For the past 10 years, I've made it a thing to take 2-3 vacations a year. I love to travel. Culture fascinates me. Whether I am traveling in State (I reside in the U.S. of A) or abroad; I appreciate the experience of experiencing a different way of life. Even if it is momentarily (BTW did you see what I did with the word, 'experience... ...LOL). Anyway I am the mother to a beautiful and budding teenage daughter and in part, she's the reason why I do what I do (she's also the nicest person I've ever met in my life). I've been in a committed relationship for the past 10 years; to someone I really believe to be my soulmate (I'm pretty lucky) and have had the equal pleasure of being the step-mom to a bursting bundle of joy. Oh... ...and China. There's China! How can I forget about China? I am the owner to a beautiful Yorkie/Poo named China (Please no hate mails. I didn't name her, my daughter did). And we got her right before the trade/war stuff. I would change her name but I'm afraid it'll be another year or so of training (China isn't that well trained). Onward |
About ShortMeTina...
...Before I get there, a little bit about my past.
I studied at CUNY- The City University of New York where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Forensic Psychology and eventually obtained a Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling.
I've spent a good portion of my life (13-15 years); providing therapy, counseling and support to an often marginalized population (criminals, substance abusers, mental health, etc). The work was rewarding but I eventually started to experience burnout and fatigue (very common in the field).
It's truly a humbling and rewarding experience to give back. My intent is to spend my life-time serving others - through philanthropy work (my late grand-mother said it's good to share and I believe her).
Stock Market
I got involved in the stock market almost 20 years ago. Like many others, I was chasing the dream. I landed my first job out of college and needed more money to support my lifestyle in a big city (first jobs out of college don't seem to pay much).
I don't remember my first trades like many others but I do remember entering the market when it was in a 'bubble' phase.
My first experience with the stock market was basically buying the top (a pretty newbie thing to do, if I should say so myself). Luckily, while I did lose, it wasn't in the tens of thousands (that comes later on).
In fact; I probably lost a little over $4,000 with my first trading account (nothing of HUGE significance to me at the time).
I'm not sure the rest of the story matters but the bug was set. The fire lit. And I've spent the last 20 years or so trying to tackle this beast we call the 'stock market' (I will do this to the day I die).
ShortMeTina is much about my journey with trading as it is with me helping those just getting started.
I think I'll cut it here...
...No, I will. I've blabbed on long enough.
Before I go, if you want to find out what I've learned after trading for close to 20 years drop your email below.
If you want to learn how I went from losing my pants to being consistent quarter over quarter, drop your email below.
I've been told, I have a very simple way of explaining the markets.
