McDonald's CEO Steve Easterbrook is out following “poor judgment involving a recent consensual relationship with an employee.”

Chris Kempczinski, current president of McDonald's USA has been appointed new CEO, effective immediately, as per the company's briefings.  

The company's share price is off over 12% since topping out at $221.93.   Let's see if these latest developments regarding Mr. Easterbrook will have an adverse effect on the company's share price heading into Monday.

Alphabet, (GOOG, GOOGL) is set to acquire Fitbit for 2.1 billion or $7.35 per share.   

If this is the start of companies being acquired; look no further than FEYE and BOX as potential acquisition targets.

Shares of XNET rose over 100% on news that Chinese President Xi Jinping called on the country to "seize opportunities"
 in blockchain technology.

Place XNET on your watchlist for a possible play.

A RACE TO THE BOTTOM

Fidelity, Charles Schwab and others have joined a growing list of legacy brokers that now offer $0 commission.  

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?

The markets continues to experience extreme volatility. 

Whether its the ongoing trade war with China, rate cuts, impeachment talks over President's Trump 

dealings with Ukrainian President Zelensky or Trump's tweets, the market has been on a roller coaster ride.  

Despite this volatility, however, we find ourselves at all time highs. 

​Will the rally continue into this week or will we experience a pullback, similar to the ones we saw in July and September after the Feds issued rate cuts?

Cronos Group got an upgrade from a Stifel analyst and is now being called the, "New King in the North". 

The stock was upgraded from a hold to a buy with a price target of C$14 ($10.66 in US dollars).  

CRON is a favorite here in the ShortMeTina community, as we've bought this stock a few times successfully.  At one point, enjoying a triple digit run-up; when the stock rose from $5s to $25s.

Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. shares rose 25%  after it was reported that they appointed former Target chief merchandising

​officer, Mark Tritton as their new CEO.  

Let's see if he can replicate the success of target (TGT).

Apple TV+ launched on Friday.   Reviews of its star-studded show, The Morning Show, continues to receive lackluster reviews from critics.  
Nike, Inc. (NKE)

Nike reported first quarter earnings and beat on expectations.  Shares of Nike gained over 5% on a solid quarter.   With a recent high of

$96.87, Nike recently made new all-time highs.  The stock lost some ground but I do believe a trading opportunity is presenting itself.  

​Place NKE on your watchlist, a trade opportunity is presenting itself.

Snap Inc. (SNAP) received an upgrade from Guggenheim from Neutral to Buy with a price target of $22.  If you did the calculations, that's a

a 62% premium from Friday's closing price of $13.52.

Snap is also continuing its venture into streaming.  It announced several upcoming shows:
  • Tekashi69 VS the World (a look at the young rappers legal battle)
  • Nikita Unfiltered (a look into the life of YouTube transgendered star, Nikita Dragun). 
  • Everything's Fine, a scripted comedy series by Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz.

Look out Netflix, (NFLX); you have more competitors in the streaming space besides Apple(AAPL) and Disney (DIS)

Disney + is slated for release on November 12, 2019.

Peloton lost over 11% on its first day of trading when it IPO'ed on September 26, 2019 . 

Adding it to the list of IPO's this year that have flopped.

IPOS are off to a poor start this year. 

Well, not all of them, Beyond Meat (BYND), had a major run from its IPO low of $45 to its peak at $239.71.  The others, however, have not fared so well. 

Peloton's IPO was priced at $29, however, the stock opened up at $27 and ended the first day of trading at $25.76. 

The selling continued with the stock hitting a low of $21.14 (a loss of over 20% from it's IPO price of $29).

A look at the company's losses for the past 3 years:
  • A net loss of $195.6 million in 2019
  • $47.9 million loss in 2018
  • $71.1 million in 2017 


I should note here that the company's share price has been in an uptrend for the past 4 trading days; and is currently within 5 points of its IPO price of $29.
